"Aatchuutai Ilitqusiġiksuam" is Iñupiaq for Gifts of the Spirit. The respect that our people have is something that cannot be taught. The respect for elders, all people, the nuna (land), and the animals that give themselves to us so that we may nourish ourselves. With this we nourish our bodies, minds, and souls. Our people have lived here since time immemorial. As I created this piece I thought of our rich, vibrant, and beautiful people. I thought of siḷa and all of my ancestors who have come before me. Of my Amau Nasauluk whose qupaq I incorporated into this fancy atiġi.
Each print is signed, numbered, and titled.
Since these prints are inked and pressed by hand, they are uniquely special and will have slight variations from one to the next.
