This particular Tuutaq (Labret) was found in an abandoned, ancient village on the Bering Sea Coast. It is estimated to be over 100 years old. It is made of fossilized Walrus Ivory. This is the only information regarding this treasure that I obtained. This labret once sat tightly in a pierced hole in the lip of an ancient Iñupiaq man over 100 years ago. It is rare to come across such a valuable piece of Iñupiat history. It has been carefully cleaned so that the artifact does not decay over time. So for those considering purchasing, please note that this is an artifact and should not be worn/used. It is a valuable artifact.
