Dentalia shells were used as a valuable trade item by indigenous people and was an indication of rank and status and is still highly valued and often incorporated into clothing and jewerly today.
Each dentalia shell is approximately 1 1/2" to 2" inches in length.
Necklace chain is 23" inches in length with a lobster claw clasp.
Each shell is attached to the chain by a metal jump ring along with a light blue glass bead.
